Love Begins At Home: Hosting An At-Home Bridal Bash
May 23, 2017 12:12 PM Back
They say home is where the heart is…so, what better place to celebrate your love than right in the comfort of your own home.
Make your homeocentric event extra special with these simple tips
1. Less Is More: Opt for an intimate affair that ‘s limited to a few CLOSE friends and family members….and that will mean making the most out of your space.
2. Food For Thought: We suggest catering your event with some simple but sensational finger foods such as tea sandwiches, mini grilled cheese, mini quiche, petite fours, mini cannoli, mini tarts, etc. We also recommend mostly cold salads and selections which won’t require the use of an oven…even if used only for warming. If you want an outdoor extravaganza think about hiring someone to serve, grill and/or clean up so you and your host can simply enjoy.
3. Raise The Bar: Hire a skilled and seasoned bartender, especially if you plan on serving mixed and/or signature drinks.
4. Give Yourself Some Space: For presents that is. Clear out an area of your home or living space for guests to place their gifts where they will remain in full view but also “out of the way”. You’ll also want to ensure that the area is in full view of the guests since they’ll WANT to see the “unveiling” unfold.
5. Sealed With A K.I.S. S.: Keep décor simple and sophisticated and respectful of the host’s home and surroundings. Refrain from using anything that may leave permanent marks when removed or anything (such as confetti) that may make more of a mess than the host bargained for.
6. Set Time Limits: While it’s true that “time flies when you’re having fun” it’s best to let guests know when the festivities begin and end, giving the host plenty of time to set up, clean up and relax after the festivities.
